I love this quote from this story:

"I don't know what they are going to do about it, but it's gotten worse every day since Sandy," said Andrea Williams.

I don't know who "they" is but I'm pretty sure "they" can do nothing if the ocean is swelling of the level is rising. People are fucking oblivious.

there was a thread about this a few days back...also happening up the east coast

the ocean is moving in, reclaiming land

they had said the east coast of the US would be hit the worst, as the ice of Greenland melts

but somehow "they" aren't saying a word to warn people or get them out of harms way...just kinda letting em figure it out for themselves

my Florida buddy who was retired navy, high level intelligence, was told several years ago to move from Florida (where he had happily retired) and the suggestion was the Ozarks region of Arkansas

He wasn't happy about it, but he moved...

guess he trusted the source

just sayin'

The entire population of Florida is going to soon be very surprised that they have been floated out into the ocean.

The people will always deny this and stay til the bitter end or the drowning end.

I left Florida back in 1999 and will never return there.

Plenty of people are talking about it, but here at GLP anyone who mentions climate change is a shill and a liar and a tool. People hear what they want, and believe comforting lies over the truth.

OH, yeah, I do remember you mentioning him a few days ago!!!! I guess I counted on it happening on the east coast because of Sandy...Didn't guess Florida would be in the mix.

I only see black and white most of the time. That's why I live on GLP. I like to see what is between the lines. :-)

I keep telling the kids that we're in one of the safest places in the US as far as natural disasters go, hope I'm right because we're stuck at this point.

No change is sea level in the rest of the world.

Just a fact.

Maybe the east coast of the US is sinking from all of the dead weight.

There's a marina right across the street (Bahia Mar) I believe?? Can't imagine what that and the yachts look like. I used to vacay there all the time, pretty scary.

Also, Suspicous 0bserver monitors the bouys some days and often remarks there are significant rises in sea floor, but then usually those same buoys go 'offline' or 'something'. Between Southeast Asia, Venice, now Florida, not hard to figure out where that sea water got displaced to.
